As many of you may already be aware, one of our El Tigre players, Bob Tormey, is battling a serious medical condition that is requiring an immediate series of blood transfusions. He is currently receiving treatment with a need for a supply of donated blood. Donations are NOT type or sex specific. Donors must be no older than 65, however.
If you are able to participate, the hospital information is below. They open at 7:00 a.m. each day. One can have nothing to eat for 10 hours prior and must bring your passport. You should go to the Emergency Desk and indicate you wish to donate blood in the name of Robert Tormey.
If you have any questions you may contact David Pollick at:
Thank you.

Good Morning, Just wanted to give you an update on Bob Tormey. He’s at home and seeing his doctor today and hematologist tomorrow. He is going to try to change the donation hospital to San Javier(marina site) which has the only other blood collection department in Puerto Vallarta. The physicians need to facilitate this so I will update everyone when this is put into place. For now hold off donating until this gets worked out. This will avoid people going to donate and being turned away. I will provide full details as soon as they are available. Bob is grateful for all the wonderful support he is getting from everyone!

We went to the hospital today at 9:45am (2/17/2020) and were told to comeback Monday thru Friday at 7am. They only accept 15 blood donations per day so probably getting there a little early would be advised. We came from Nuevo Vallarta and it took approximately 25 minutes to get there. If you’re not fluent in Spanish, have google translate ready to go. Lots of construction going on at the hospital. The blood bank is located through a set of double doors about fifty feet from the emergency entrance. The people were very helpful once we figured out how to ask for the blood bank (Banco de Sangre)
Hope that helps,
Scott Barnes
