Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, December 21st, 2022

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two-person team game where all teams will need to use only one best ball net score for all holes. Please provide gross and net scores for all players on your team and also provide team summary scores for the front nine, the back nine and the total 18-hole score. Lastly, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots and rake out any bunkers.

Holiday Fundraising Campaign to Benefit El Tigre Golf Staff – Our fundraising campaign is off to a good start; however, we only have two days left. We are asking all members to please consider making a holiday contribution that will be shared with the El Tigre golf club staff. All contributions are welcome, and they are very much appreciated by all. If you are in the local Nuevo Vallarta area you can drop off your donation with Steve’s assistant, Isaura.

We’re planning on a very serious competition between the elf teem and the nutcracker team

depending on the  number of players 🤞  Details will be given before the matches.

Please feel free to dress Christmassy.

Tee time is  at ten as usual and the cost is 100 pesos per couple.

Gringo Classic 2023

I’m happy to announce the 2023 Gringo Classic has been booked for Tuesday Feb 28, and Wednesday March 1.

This year in order to accommodate as many players as possible we have changed the team format to be Team Canada vs Team International. This will open the opportunity for some of the local national members to join the tournament. Our hopes are for 36 players per side.

Captains this year will be Tim Steele for Team Canada and Jack Gindi for Team International.

The format will remain the same.

Day 1: February 28 will be a 2 man best ball match play with 1 point awarded to the front 9, 1 point for the back 9 and 1 point for the overall, ties will consist of half point per team.
After there will be a burger and 2 beer will be served in the club house, while the draw is made up for day 2

Day 2: March 1 will be individual match play with the same point format.
Trophy presentation will be done following the final match.

All tees that are playable in men’s mixer events will be in effect.

The total cost is 1,300 psos. There will be a sign up sheet with the check in desk at the club.

We ask that you pay when you register with the desk and as well on your calendar. On the website, first select the event in the Leagues tab, then select both days in My Calendar and remember to save your calendar when doing so.

If you have a guest please register and pay for them with the desk, then email myself alanbayliss@gmail.com and I will add them in the calendar.

Looking forward to this coming years version with the addition of local players and expanded roster.

Friday, December 16th Ladies League

This week the game is 4-LADY, BEST 2 LOW NETS PER HOLE.   The game is $50 pesos and Skills are $20 pesos.  Correct change is greatly appreciated.

For those who would like to try and improve their game, Hector will be providing a weekly golf tip at 8:45 a.m. This will be followed by the names of your cart mates and your starting hole number.  Shotgun start @ 9:00 a.m. sharp.

If you wish to play, please be sure to update your calendar and “SAVE” the changes  BEFORE Thursday, December 15th @ 3:00 p.m.  This is the cut-off period and no changes will be permitted after this time.  And off course, should you choose not play and have registered in the past for the date specified above, again please CANCEL to update your calendar and “SAVE” the changes before Thursdays’ deadline.  This will greatly assist those of us who organize the weekly games.

Lastly, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots and rake out any bunkers.

Holiday Fundraising Campaign to Benefit El Tigre Golf Staff – The Men’s League started this campaign over 10 years ago and this year’s fundraising campaign began last Wednesday. We are asking all members to please consider making a holiday contribution that will be shared with the El Tigre golf club staff members.
