Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, January 20th, 2021

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a four person “best ball” team game using Nassau scoring where each team will need to count two net best balls for all holes. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and please repair all divots.

Reminder Concerning Men’s League play policy – To follow, is a policy statement concerning men’s league play eligibility for any newly arriving members from the US or Canada. Please note that the policy has changed as a result of a vote that was taken by the Men’s league members on January 7th, 2021. Agreement was reached by the members that no newly arriving member would be permitted to play in any Men’s league event during the first seven days, after the completion of international or domestic air travel. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Good luck to all golfers!

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two person “best ball” team game where each team will need to count one net best ball for all holes. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and please repair all divots. Lastly, don’t forget to update your January calendar, if you have not already done so.

Updated Men’s League play policy – To follow is an important update concerning men’s league play policy for any newly arriving members from the US or Canada. Please note that the policy has changed as a result of a vote that was taken by the Men’s league members on January 7th, 2021. Agreement was reached by the members that no newly arriving member would be permitted to play in any Men’s league event during the first seven days, after the completion of international or domestic air travel. There are certain circumstances where a newly arriving traveler may feel that they need to stay home for longer than one week (eg. potential recent exposure to a person that tested positive for covid), and this is understandable and commendable. We would ask everyone to err on the side of safety to protect their fellow golfers. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Good luck to all golfers!

Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, January 6th, 2021

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

If you have not yet updated your January calendar to confirm that you are playing in the upcoming January Men’s League events, please do so as soon as possible.

This Wednesday we will be playing a four person team game consisting of the stableford scoring format, where each team will need to count three net best scores for all holes. All net bogies will count 1 point, net pars are 2 points, net birdies are 3 points, net eagles are 4 points and double eagles are 6 points. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and also to repair all divots.

To follow, is a reminder concerning recommended league play policy for any newly arriving members from the US or Canada. Due to the current worldwide covid-19 situation, we would strongly recommend that all players follow the latest health/science guidelines issued by the CDC covering international travelers. Just before Thanksgiving, the US CDC issued new recommendations for international travelers and they advised travelers to stay home for a minimum of a one week post-travel period. We would strongly recommend to all newly arriving travelers, looking to participate in the weekly Wednesday Men’s league event, that they follow these recommendations.

Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. I would like to thank all members for their great participation in support of the Members Christmas donation campaign. Today will be the last day of the campaign. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. If you are back in the US or Canada and you would like to make a contribution, there are several options. For any Canadian member, Alan Bayliss has suggested that people use a service called e-Transfer, where you can email money to people. Alan has graciously offered to help out here and if anyone in Canada would like to donate through this service, (e-Transfer) they can send their contribution to Alan at alanbayliss@gmail.com. For any US member looking to make a contribution, I have a PayPal account that would allow me to accept a contribution. You can contact me at markusgmelin@gmail.com for more information.

In the last six weeks, I have received a number of emails from league players (that have recently travelled to Mexico from the US or Canada) looking for direction concerning when they could play in the Men’s League event. Due to the current worldwide covid situation, we would recommend that all players follow the latest health/science guidelines issued by the CDC covering international travelers. Just before Thanksgiving, the US CDC issued new recommendations for international travelers and they advised travelers to stay home for a minimum of a one week post-travel period. Good luck to all golfers!
