New feature – Waiting list

This year, all leagues have a maximum players per event. For example, Men League maximum player is 60. On the calendar you will see something like 45/ 60 when 45 players registered, and the maximum is 60. Each time a new player signs in or signs out, number of registered players is adjusted.

When the maximum players for an event is reached, checking box is grayed and an asterisk (*) appears.

Click on * and you will be able to put your name on the waiting list. If you put your name on the list, * will become an @ and you are on the waiting list.

You can go on and out the waiting until the cut off, the day before the event (3:00PM, 8:00AM for Women League). When a player signs out for this league event, every player on the waiting list for this event will then receive an email saying there is a spot available.

The empty spot will be taken by the first player who signs in in after receiving email. Players not fast enough to take the available spot will remain on the waiting list and have another chance to sign in if another spot becomes available.

REMEMBER

New registration process

This season there are changes to the registration process for all four leagues (Ladies, Mens, Couples & Skins) wherein the respective calendars will open for registration only 28 days in advance of each league game date.  This will continue every week thereafter for the balance of the season.  In other words, when the calendar opens, you can book for the game scheduled four weeks into the future.

Example:  Ladies League calendar opens October 11th for play on November 8th only.  Then opens again October 18th for play on November 15th.  This will continue for the balance of the season.

After season begins, it will be easier to remind it. After each game, you will be able to sign in for the game four weeks ahead on the same weekday. Registration will open at 5:00PM on that day. As usual, sign in will be open until game’s eve, 8:00AM for Ladies league and 3:00PM for other leagues.

Priority will be given to El Tigre Golf Members first.  Visiting family or friends that wish to play the Leagues will be handled on a case-by-case basis, however, every effort will be made to accommodate where possible.

League administrators will soon provide you with additional information on the coming season.

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

Our First Annual Men’s League Memorial golf tournament will take place on January 17th, 2023. The starting time will be at 8:45 am (with pre-golf announcements beginning at 8:35 am). Please plan your arrival and practice session accordingly.

Memorial Event Agenda:

  • Shot gun start for all players/teams at 8:45 AM,
  • After golf all participants gather in El Tigre restaurant dining area for lunch,
  • Memorial dedication session will be held after lunch followed by,
  • Prizes, awards and payouts to winning teams and players

Memorial recognition and post-golf luncheon activities: The memorial event is in honor and recognition of our fellow Men’s League members that are no longer with us, including Wayne Gibson, Bob Tormey, Derek Peper and Jack Kirkpatrick. During our memorial dedication session after lunch, we will pay tribute to Wayne, Bob, Derek and Jack. We will begin this section by unveiling a special plaque to honor our deceased comrades and we will also hear from a number of members who will speak in honor of their deceased friends.

Costs Per Player will be $600 pesos: The cost covers the normal $100 entry fee, lunch selection option including either French dip, cheeseburger, or hamburger (all options include French fries), $70 peso beverage credit for lunch, costs of memorial plaque, individual trophies for all winning team members and other minor incidental costs. When you arrive next Wednesday, please see either Wayne Stillwell or Jack Gindi (money collectors) and pay them the $600 pesos. When you pay them your entry fee you will also be asked which luncheon choice you would like to have.

Good luck to all players!

Maximum players

On request of El Tigre Golf Club, the leagues have agreed to limit the number of players for each event. The maximum number of players per event set by the Club is as follows:
Skins Game: 24
Women League:40
Men League:56
Couples Golf:52

Maximum players and registered players on calendar
Now you will see numbers below each checkbox on your Leagues’ calendar: number of players registered and maximum players. For example, there are 45 men registered out of a maximum of 56 for the Men League on Wednesday 29th.

If you click the checkbox and save the change, you’ll now see 46 players registered out of 56.

Number of registered players increase and decrease as players sign in or sign out and save their change.
Don’t forget to save your changes.

Maximum players reached
When the maximum number of players has been reached and you have not registered, the checkbox is grayed out and you cannot register for the event. See example below for 8th. You can go back later and watch if there is a spot available.
If the checkbox is active, you have already registered. Nothing to do if you still want to play. See example below for 15th. But, if you do not want to play, you should sign out and give another player the chance to register.

Check your calendar
Check your calendar often to make sure it reflects your playing intentions. This is now more important with a maximum players per event. As soon as you know you will not be playing when you have signed in, sign out as soon as possible to give another player a chance to sign in.

As usual, you can sign in or sign out until the day before each event at 3:00 PM (2:00 PM for Women League).
