Final Update for Gringo Classic

The Final Gringo Classic matches will be posted at the Starter’s shack.
If you are a green fee player, please see Phil Woodrum for the Green Fees.
Team pictures will be taken for the Trophy.

Below is info on what the Entry Fee Includes:

February 15th, 2018

– Golf begins at 9 AM.
– The format is 18 holes of 4 man better ball and 9 holes of 4 man alternate shot on the first day.
– There will be a 1 hour break for a quick hamburger/fries/beverage at the clubhouse after the first 18 holes.
– As close to 2:00 PM as possible, the 9 holes of 2 man Modified Chapman will commence.
– Golfers are invited at 5PM to Rocky’s Sports Bar for Beer and Ribs on the patio. Beer, Food, chips/salsa included. Margaritas and highballs (discounted), can be
paid for out of own pocket.

February 16th, 2018

– Golf begins at 10 AM.
– Format is 2 man singles match play.
– After Golf the windup party is at Eltigre clubhouse restaurant @ 5PM. Buffet style food, 2 free drink tickets for beers, margaritas, wine, soda’s, water. Highballs and special drinks, out of
your own pocket. Meal @ 6:00 PM.
– Wives / girlfriends are included in the Golfing Entry Fee for the windup party. The guest list is full, sorry no more guest’s accepted.

As this is our first attempt at a catered event, I hope everyone will enjoy themselves and we will learn lots for the next year.

Gringo Classic Matches/Teams

Hello GC golfers,

Please see the attached spreadsheet for the Gringo Classic. Golf begins at 09:00 hrs Thursday February 15, 2018. A brief 10 minute meeting about rules will be given by the Captains: Bruce Otto and Mark Clear before the matches commence. Have fun and enjoy.

Gringo Classic Update

The Gringo Classic is now filled with 44 golfers. I am happy to say that Canada and USA teams have 22 players each.
The teams for all rounds will be posted on the website early next week.
If you are a green fee player, Phil Woodrum has a rate that will be charged for green fee players. Please see Phil for further information.

– After the completion of golf, golfers are invited to El Barracuda for appies/food, beer, margaritas. Highballs out of your own pocket.

– Format is 4 man singles match play.
– After Golf the windup party at Rocky’s @ 5PM. Food, beers, margaritas, soda, water, festivities. Highballs out of your own pocket. Meal @ 5:30 PM.
Wives / girlfriends are included in the Golfing Entry Fee for the windup party at Rocky’s. Guests are welcome to attend for a fee of $250 peso per guest.

My goal is to have the $1500 peso Entry Fee and the $250 peso per Guest fee paid to me by February 14 at the latest. Early payments are welcome.

I will be at the Golf Club at the completion of the Monday and Friday Skins games and the Wednesday Men’s Mixer to collect the $1500 peso entry fee / $250 peso Guest Fee.

Gringo Classic 2018 Information

The Gringo Classic is now filled with 40 golfers. Any other golfers that sign up on the website will be put on the waiting/reserve list in case some golfers cancel.
The teams for the first day of play will be posted on the website on Monday Feb 12th and at the starter shack on Monday Feb12th.
Phil Woodrum has a rate that will be charged for green fee players. Please see Phil for further information.

Beer, wings, fries, and the draft of players for Day 2 at Chasers after completion of golf on Day 1.

Windup, food, drinks, festivities at Rocky’s after 3 PM.

Since I am off for 2-3 weeks with my elbow problem, I will be showing up (as much as possible) at the completion of the Skins games and the Men’s Mixer to collect the $1500 peso entry fee for the Gringo Classic. The entry fee will cover all the food, drink, souvenir, trophy, and good time had by all. The goal is to have all the entry fees collected by January 31st.

A reminder and update on the Gringo Classic.

The cut off for registering to play in the Gringo Classic is January 15, 2018. The playing field is limited to 40 players, and is filling fast. Check the box in your Calendar on Feb 15, 2018 to be registered. If you have guest’s that would like to play, please email Myles McDonald (mmcdonald009@yahoo.ca) with the guest’s name and handicap.
