Bring your lucky Shamrock Golf Balls!!! St. Patrick’s Day Golf Tournament on Wednesday, March 17, at the Litibu Golf Club. Open to all golfers. • Green fee is $1,250.00, buy in is $250.00, for a total $1500.00 pesos, which includes cart, range balls and practice green.
• 18 hole stroke event (foursomes). If you don’t have a foursome, enter as individual and we will fit you in
• Registration will start at 9:30 am, shotgun start at 11:00 am
• Maximum handicap for men is 18, maximum handicap for women is 20.
• Cash Prizes will be paid out as follows:

  • Low net score back nine
  • Low net total score
  • Low gross score front nine
  • Low gross score back nine
  • Low gross total score
  • Closest to pin on all par threes
  • Skins
• Food and drinks are available for purchase at club restaurant

Total cash prizes will depend on how many entries we receive. All prizes will be paid out that day after the tournament. This will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and test your game against a large field of players at all levels. Wear something Green!

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a two person team game using the Stableford scoring system. For team scoring purposes (please note that both players scores will count for the team score on all holes), any net bogie will count as 1 point, any net par will count as two points, any net birdie will count as 3 points, any net eagle will count as 4 points and any net double eagle will count as 6 points. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries, using the Stableford scoring system described above, for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and please repair all divots.

Reminder Concerning Men’s League play policy – To follow, is a policy statement concerning men’s league play eligibility for any newly arriving members from the US or Canada. Please note that the policy has changed as a result of a vote that was taken by the Men’s league members on January 7th, 2021. Agreement was reached by the members that no newly arriving member would be permitted to play in any Men’s league event during the first seven days, after the completion of international or domestic air travel. We thank you for your understanding and support.

The Mexican Golf Federation has rerated El Tigre, and new scorecards reflecting the changes are currently being printed. Hopefully they will arrive in the next week or so. You will notice that the slopes and ratings of all tees have increased, and that the stroke indices (aka “hole handicaps”) have changed significantly.

This website’s Handicap calculator has also been updated with the new slopes and ratings, so they will be used in calculating the “differentials” for scores you enter from now on.

A friend of Rod Spence is helping the La Cruz Kids Club Education Program. They have a fundraiser and have a gift certificate donated to them for 2 rounds of golf at Punta Mita Golf Course. It is valid until December 6th 2020. The cost is $350 US. I wanted to let everyone know that one of our members, Jim von Gremp, is currently undergoing treatment at the MD Anderson cancer center in Houston. He and Susan are living in an apartment near the hospital.

Jim will turn 71 on October 21st. I think it would lift his spirits if he received a LOT of birthday wishes next week. If you want to send him a card, here is his mailing address:
