Men’s Memorial Golf Event Mixer – January 28th, 2026

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

Golf Game Format: This Wednesday we will be having our Memorial golf event, and we will follow the same format that we used in January 2024 at our initial Memorial event. Everyone will be playing in four person teams, and we will be using a different format for the front nine holes and the back nine holes. For the front nine holes, we will be playing a scramble format, using four different tee box sequences. On hole 1 all players will tee off the red tees, on hole 2 players will tee off the gold tees, on hole 3 players will tee off the white tees, on hole 4 players will tee off the blue tees and this same order will be in place for the remaining 5 holes. All teams must use a minimum of two tee shots per player. For the back nine holes all teams will need to record only two best ball net scores on each hole. All teams will be balanced by handicap composition as much as possible to ensure equity. The winning team will be determined by the combined result of the two formats. Please enter your scores in the Golf Genius software for yourself and your golf partner on the screen for each hole. In addition to keeping your scores on-line, Golf Genius will allow you to view the live leaderboard online anytime during the round to see how well your team is doing compared to the rest of the field.

It is highly recommended that all players arrive no later than 8:20 AM in order to complete their practice warm up and be ready to tee off by 8:40 AM after our pre-golf announcements have been concluded. As previously communicated the cost per player will be $600 pesos which includes the normal entry fee, lunch, two beers (or equivalent), tip for staff, costs for trophies, plaques/engraving, and other incidental costs.

The money collectors (Chuck Achen, Darryl Massey and Andrew Miller) will collect your money inside the club house at a table inside the door. When you make your payment, you will be asked which lunch option you would like (Hamburger, Cheeseburger or Beef au Jus).

The tentative agenda for the day will be as follows:

  • 8:40 AM – We have our announcements and all players tee off
  • 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM – Players return after golf, submit scorecards to Markus and Don and have lunch
  • 1:45 PM – 2:00 PM – Don and Markus announce all winners
  • 2:00 PM – Memorial session begins

Remember to circle any player in your group that had a natural birdie on holes 10 – 18. There will be no “birdie” payouts for holes 2 and 6 due to the scramble format.

Lastly, please remember to rake out any bunkers you may have entered and repair all divots.

Good luck to all golfers!

Markus
