This Wednesday we will be a playing four-person team game where all teams will need to count only one best ball net score for all par 3’s, two best ball net scores on all par 4’s and three best ball net scores on all par 5’s. Please record both gross and net scores for all team players and provide team score summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Also, please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.

Announcement Concerning the Passing of Derek Pepper – We were all very saddened to learn last week that our good friend and fellow golfer, Derek Pepper passed after battling a lengthy illness. He will be very much missed by all of us. We are currently working with El Tigre Golf Course management to develop an appropriate course of action to recognize Derek’s many longstanding contributions to the El Tigre community. We will provide you with additional updates in the near future.

Reminder: Men’s League guidelines concerning unvaccinated players: The following agreement was reached by the Men’s League members: If you are unvaccinated, you need to let Markus know of your status by sending him a private email (markusgmelin@gmail.com) that will be kept confidential. This Wednesday we will be playing a hybrid two-person team game. For the first 9 holes (holes 1 – 9) we will be playing an alternate shot format game. Each two person team will be able to decide who will take the tee shot on hole # 1, and from that point forward, all team players will take turns hitting the next shot, until the hole is completed. There will be no conceded putts. Every team will need to putt out and after the hole is completed and the other team player will then tee off on the ensuing hole. For the second 9 holes (holes 10 – 18) we will be playing a traditional scramble event where both players will tee off and then the team decides which ball they will play for their next shot. This pattern will continue until the hole is completed. Please record the team score for each hole and provide summary scores for the front 9, and also the back 9. There will be separate payouts for both of the games (the alternate shot game holes 1 – 9) and the scramble game holes 10 – 18). Further scoring adjustments will likely be announced prior to teeing off on Wednesday to adjust for any unbalanced teams based on combined team handicap scores. Please circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and remember to repair all divots.

Gringo Classic Update Update: Congratulation to Team Canada for winning the 2022 Gingo Classic. It was a great event and it was not decided until the very end and it was very much appreciated by all of the players.
