Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, December 30th

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a four person team game consisting of the waltz, where each team will need to count one best net score for hole 1, two net best balls for hole 2, three net best balls for hole 3, and this pattern continues for all remaining holes. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and also to repair all divots.

To follow, is a reminder concerning recommended league play policy for any newly arriving members from the US or Canada. Due to the current worldwide covid-19 situation, we would recommend that all players follow the latest health/science guidelines issued by the CDC covering international travelers. Just before Thanksgiving, the US CDC issued new recommendations for international travelers and they advised travelers to stay home for a minimum of a one week post-travel period. We would recommend to all newly arriving travelers, looking to participate in the weekly Wednesday Men’s league event, that they follow these recommendations. There are certain circumstances where a newly arriving traveler may feel that they need to stay home for longer than one week (eg. potential recent exposure to a person that tested positive for covid), and this is understandable and commendable. We would ask everyone to err on the side of safety to protect their fellow golfers. We thank you for your understanding and support.

Good luck to all golfers!

Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, December 23rd

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a four person “red-white-blue” team game where each team will need to count three best net scores for all red pins, two net best balls for all white pins and one net best ball for all blue pins. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and also to repair all divots.

I would like to thank all members for their great participation in support of the Members Christmas donation campaign. Today will be the last day of the campaign. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. If you are back in the US or Canada and you would like to make a contribution, there are several options. For any Canadian member, Alan Bayliss has suggested that people use a service called e-Transfer, where you can email money to people. Alan has graciously offered to help out here and if anyone in Canada would like to donate through this service, (e-Transfer) they can send their contribution to Alan at alanbayliss@gmail.com. For any US member looking to make a contribution, I have a PayPal account that would allow me to accept a contribution. You can contact me at markusgmelin@gmail.com for more information.

In the last six weeks, I have received a number of emails from league players (that have recently travelled to Mexico from the US or Canada) looking for direction concerning when they could play in the Men’s League event. Due to the current worldwide covid situation, we would recommend that all players follow the latest health/science guidelines issued by the CDC covering international travelers. Men’s Mixer – Wednesday, December 16th, 2020

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

This Wednesday we will be playing a four person team game using Nassau scoring where we will have three winning teams; lowest total team score, lowest front 9 team score and lowest back 9 team score. For team scoring purposes you will need to count two best net scores for all holes. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Don’t forget to circle all gross deuces (2’s) on your scorecard and also to repair all divots.

To date, we have had great participation from everyone concerning the Members Christmas donation campaign. We are extending the current campaign to Sunday, December 20th. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. If you are back in the US or Canada and you would like to make a contribution, there are several options. For any Canadian member, Alan Bayliss has suggested that people use a service called e-Transfer, where you can email money to people. Men’s Mixer – December 9th, 2020

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

The game for this upcoming Wednesday will be a four person team game using a three person Stableford scoring system. For team scoring purposes, all teams will need to count the three best “net” scores for each hole. A net bogie gets 1 point, a net par gets 2 points, a net birdie get 3 points, a net eagle gets 4 points and a net double eagle gets 6 points. Please record both gross and net scores for all players on your team and provide team scoring summaries for the front 9, the back 9 and the total 18 hole score. Remember also to circle any gross deuces (2’s) and repair all divots.

We have now begun our annual Members Christmas Donation campaign in support of the El Tigre Golf Course staff. This campaign is scheduled to run from now until December 16th. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Anyone making a cash contribution can give their contribution to either Alan Bayliss or myself. We will have a collection envelope for this purpose at the upcoming Wednesday Men’s League events. Cash contributions can also be made to Steve Johnson. For those members that are not here and that would like to make a contribution, we are currently investigating several third party payment provider options (eg. Remitly, PayPal and others) that may provide a workable solution. We will update you on the results of this effort shortly.

Good luck to all golfers!

Men’s Mixer – December 2nd, 2020

Hola El Tigre Golfers,

The game for next Wednesday will be a four person team game consisting of the reverse waltz. All teams will need to count three net best balls on hole # 1, two net best balls on hole # 2, and one net best ball on hole # 3….and this pattern continues for all 18 holes. All teams should record both gross and net scores for all players on all holes and provide team score summaries for the front 9, the back nine and the 18 hole total score.

The new scorecards are now available, along with new handicap designations for all holes. There are many changes. For example hole #10 is now handicap # 18, hole # 5 is now handicap # 1 and hole # 15 is now handicap # 14. All teams will need to use these new handicaps when completing their scorecards. As usual, please circle any gross deuces (2’s) and repair all divots.

Good luck to all golfers!

Markus
